Amenities Around Lake Cumberland

DALE HOLLOW LAKE AND LAKE CUMBERLAND

Dale Hollow Lake and Lake Cumberland were built and are controlled by the US Corp Of Engineers which means that no one can own property on the water. Dale Hollow Lake is mostly in Tennessee but partly in Kentucky. The area around the lakes are still unspoiled by development and host a large population of wildlife, deer, turkey, quail and all sorts of small species of birds for bird watchers. The recreational areas draw people from all over the country using more than fourteen marinas on the 2 largest lakes in Kentucky. House boat slips have a waiting list of 1 to 2 years in most of the marinas. Boat slips and house boat rentals are at a premium and usually need to be reserved at least a year in advance. Fishing is at it's finest with bass, bluegill, crappie, muskellunge, sauger, trout, walleye, bream, peckerel, pike, perch, catfish and nongame species.

Lake Cumberland also features the only indoor pool complex in the park system. A glass-backed elevator, atrium, exercise room, and hot tub add a pampering touch to Lure Lodge!

KENTUCKY STATE RESORT PARK

Twenty five minutes south of the development is the largest and newest Kentucky State Convention Center which when finished will be at a cost of $2.5 million. One is brand new and opened this spring. It also has a Camp ground with 144 paved sites with electricity and water hookups plus 3 services centers.
